A 4x National Champion in his native country of Peru, Sensei Montenegro has taught in the Orange County area for more than two decades, and has helped prepare many world class athletes for competition from a variety of grappling disciplines. He is also the Head Instructor and Founder of the Orange County Judo Training Center with locations in Anaheim and Irvine. Sensei Joshua Resnick brings impressive credentials to the Judo Program as well. Sensei Resnick trained on the legendary SJSU Judo Team, and was on the National Elite roster for more than a decade. He is a National Level Coach and Referee, and is an accredited teacher, working with Special Needs students for the last several years, first in Milwaukee and now in Southern California. In addition to understanding judo from the perspective of an elite athlete, Sensei Joshua also brings an educator’s mindset to his classes at Fight Zone USA, and works closely with Sensei Juan Montenegro in developing the curriculum.

The Fight Zone USA Judo Program works closely with the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Program which is under the direction of Professor Leandro Vieira, one of the famous and renown Vieira Brothers. Sensei Montenegro and Sensei Resnick both hold rank in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and believe that cross training in Judo and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu makes for better, more competitive grappling athletes.
